Again, my disclaimer is that the people I tend to notice are the ones who argue with me, post a lot or get into interesting chats with me on a regular basis. I just can't say something about everyone I know because it would take far too long, even though there are a lot of great people here whom I might not mention. Don't take offense. Oh, and unlike for "A and B" I am going to try to keep things in the third person instead of addressing people directly, as I did halfway through the last post.
Captain Psyko
Keith's a great guy and I had a chance to get to know him in person. He woke me up while I was soundly asleep but it was to tell me that the US had captured Saddam Hussein so I didn't mind, on balance. I haven't seen him around much recently but I hope to stay in touch because he is a very interesting guy.
Cavrin
I loved arguing with this guy. He was obnoxious, but at least he made things interesting. Haven't seen him around recently, either.
Chorabliss
Greg is a really great guy. He's very smart and I love to read the way he flames some of the morons that feel a need to post monuments to their own stupidity on this site. It's great when it gets to the point where he just tells people to leave the post... I also like reading his science posts, even though frequently I don't really have anything worthwhile to add to them. He's always posting interesting things and writing interesting replies to what I write. I could go on and on about his many virtues and great qualities, but he knows I value his opinion so I'll just leave it at that for right now.
cmdjing
Ah, Jing, our resident anti-imperialist. I find myself in a slightly different political camp but I always enjoy reading his posts because he's capable of evoking an intelligent debate on the issues of the day.
CNRedDragon
I haven't seen a lot of posts recently, but he's a fun guy and has an interesting take on things. Plus, he always seems to be mentioned in wotmania parodies, so I have a hard time remembering whether he did something or it was a fictitious account of his deeds written by someone else...
Cobble Gaidin
I was very glad I had a chance to meet Eric. He is wicked cool and I hope that he gets another chance to get down to NYC so we can get drunk some more. I find his posts to be funny, witty and sarcastic in a way that is made all the better when you hear his voice saying it in your head.
CrazedWeasel
If for NO OTHER REASON, his "Creatolution? Evoation?" post was fan-f*cking-tastic. A nice, well-reasoned attempt to reconcile religion and science, attacked and torn to shreds by overzealous individuals on both sides. Well, I personally appreciated it as it gave me a chance to attack some of the replies with reckless abandon. Though regardless, he is a nice guy with some interesting ideas.
Cristal : )
God bless her, one of these days I'm going to buy her a three-month course on spelling and grammar.
Dark Gholam
Again, someone I haven't seen posting too much recently, but definitely a great poster and someone with whom I've shared interesting and intellectual exchanges.
Druid
Where would we be without his ego-deflating quizzes? Probably a lot more egotistical, that's where. He's a fantastic poster and an interesting person.
Durandir
Nick, Nick, Nick. The first person I got into a flame war with, yet someone whose opinions I value highly and who is always posting something worth reading. He was gone for a long time but has been posting more recently...
Dylanfanatic
Larry is one of the people who makes this site what it is. Sure, I don't read his OF section that much, and maybe I have yet to read half the books he's recommended me, but he's always ready with unusual stories, odd surveys and literary interests. I can always count on an interesting response from him. He seems to have lost his clout with Mike, though, as neither the Literature category nor the Cthulhu "smiley" have been added...
There were a lot of other people on this particular section of the list that I know and with whom I talk. However, as I said earlier, I regret having posted on "A and B" because now I feel obligated to continue and it's a major time investment to reply to all of these.
Annoying wotmaniacs for 10 years.
Oh, I don't have time for this. I have to go and buy a single piece of fruit with a coupon and then return it, making people wait behind me while I complain. - Prof. Farnsworth
