Because this isn't meant to be an insult.

But therein lies the reason the Catholic Church bans birth control.
No birth control = more Catholics.

I'm not disagreeing with your post or making any sort of statement about Catholics. I just think it's an interesting illustration of your point.

I guess really the only way to have "freedom" to choose your religion is if your parents never took you to church or taught you any belief system based on religion. Then I suppose you'd be a blank slate to choose the religion that fits your ideals best.
