For me, it's simple. Picking a religion isn't like picking your favorite color, or your favorite TV show, or something. I beleive that the religon I am practicing is the utter and complete truth, no ifs ands or buts. So do my parents, and so that's what they taught me. They taught me morals and ethics too, but should they rather have waited until I was old enough to understand and rationally choose whether or not I should steal, or kill, or things like that? No. My religion is the same thing.
