A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.

And I really do not lose sleep over the fact that Al Qaeda could strike any minute. Or even give a thought at all. But for the less feint of heart (or more stupid of mind) Bush constantly reminds us we are at a state of war with terrorism. I think its largely an attempt into scaring people to vote for him. They even have a color-coded system that tells us today's terror alert is fuschia. Which means they may or may not have heard about something that might happen today. You hear that America? Keep on the lookout for something today, but go on with your daily lives as usual. I really hope he doesn't get re-elected.
I don't understand that mentality. I mean sure 9-11 was horrific and I feel terrible for Americans who dealt with it, but did you know your chance of dying in a terrorist attack is less than something like... your plane crashing? It's true. I don't see why the public has let the event be twisted by the government to supress the people, and instill an even larger looming fear into the populace. America is now the Land of the Scared, and it's not a good thing. Scared people make rash decisions, which is just what the current administration seems to want.
