If the US were more like Canada? Perhaps this would be a good thing for both parties involved and may make the US more liberal?

Especially considering the brief mention I made of our current leading parties (The Liberals and Conservatives) are becoming increasingly right-minded. Those, under the shadow of the American super-rightness, would soon follow suit rather than change the US liberally.

But it is true, if we weren't all so concerned with "Canadian-ness" and our own soveriegnty and identity, it would not be so much of a concern. But... to believe otherwise is pure nonsense. How can a citizen not be concerned for such issues? I imagine many Americans would be somewhat perturbed if Canada began to annex them, and dissolved the things America "Stands for."
