He gave up the Pan-Am bombers, nuke program transparency and if I remember he has said he'll do something for human rights. That seems to be removing himself from an age-old stance.
With the first two, he couldn't avoid it if he still wanted to have a country to run, he only did it as a minimum to appease the west. I'll believe the last part when it happnes, promises like that are very easy to break.
