One of my friends uses gay as a negitive, and as a result I've caught myself doing it twice. But I do not like it, and often chastise him for using it. It's that we know no gay people in real life, but I told him "If you did, you would really be offending them." He's getting better, since then.
Yeah, I know a few gay people. I don't know anyone who really uses 'gay' as a negative word though.
I find it humourous when people freak out over their sexuality being questioned. I might be a bit uncomfortable, but no more than if someone asked me another sex-related question.
Yeah, it should be the same if someone asked you if you were straight. It's just a yes or no question. No reason to freak out.
