Although your shipping charges are higher and it can take 2 or 3 weeks for the book to get there you will generally save between 50 and 80%.

It's unfair to have such a system. At least unfair for the US students.

I couldn't agree more. I suspect illegal too (anti-trust) but no-one cares. Don't forget that often in the US a University gets a cut of the price if they recommend books so it is in their interest to keep it high. The publishers want it high, and so on. Everyone wins except the students who get screwed.
