I avoid them whenever possible. Not that I have a real problem using them if necessary, but I prefer walking the stairs.
About people using the elevator for one story: I think they will be punished by an early coronary thrombosis induced by lack of physical exercise.


I'll be more enthusiastic about encouraging thinking outside the box when there's evidence of any thinking going on inside it.
