then the yankees gain nothing from their 6 run rally in the 8th to beat Oakland. It's only april, I'll take the half-game for now...besides, the Sox have to play a doubleheader, and anything that inconveniences the Red Sox, I am in favor of.
Don't worry about the standings, its only April. Remember last May, when they were far worse than they are now? I mean, they got no hit by the entire Houston pitching staff. September 2000 also, they lost....15 of 18 i think it was(maybe?) The only reason people are making such a big deal over it now is because a)it's the very beginning of the season...no one commented last may because they started 20-5, and b)they have the greatest offensive lineup in modern history, they are supposed to be hitting.
They'll start hitting eventually, and when they do, look out Boston. I can't wait.
I can't wait either, that's what so frustrating. It goes, 'it's only one game', 'it's only one week', 'it's only one month'. Soon it's gonna be too late. There are obviouse signs that they're pulling out of this hitting slump. But I'm more worried about the pitching. As long as brown stays healthy he and Vasquez are good, but Mussina is still having trouble, Contrares hasn't looked good at all, and John Lieber hasn't pitched a major league game in two years.
I'll stop worrying once things turn around.
