Yes, this certainly dwarfens the fall of the Roman empire, two world wars, industrial revolution etc. (list doesn't claim to be complete). All rubbish when compared to finding a wooden ark.

Plus his comment about "the way science currently thinks about earth" rings an alarm bell in my head.
I'll be more enthusiastic about encouraging thinking outside the box when there's evidence of any thinking going on inside it.
