I get that impression as well, it's also the main sourc of comment in the papers over here - quite funny as it was only a couple of weeks ago the Telegraph was saying that he is very well respected in America....

I have lost count of the number of times that people have come up to me and said how much they like Blair and respect him and Britain. It has happened two of not three times in the past week alone.
