These days it's "Coke" or "soft drink" and nothing more...though I remember one time Gena got really frustrated because she said she could place my dialect by asking me some questions and I refused to choose between "soda" and "pop" on the grounds that I have never used either in my life, except when specifically speaking about how I use neither.
In the midwest it's very much still "pop". Very occasionally "Soda pop". Don't know what my home town is using any more as it's been a long time.
The use "Coke" interchangably for most soft drinks (or used to anyway) down in some part of the south.
Up here it's also definitely pop.
