Most of his recent buys just don't seem to have been good enough, to me anyway, he seems to have bought a lot of players who are god enough to be back up players but not good enough to improve the first team. Kewell should have been an exception, but he doesn't seem to have hit form for most of the season.
It's all to do with the tactics. Pretty much the entire team doesn't know where they are supposed to be playing, nor where anyone else is. Kewell has played in five different positions this season - no wonder the lad is a bit confused. I'm positive he will come good - he has without doubt been Houlliers best signing.
I get the impression that it is time Houllier stepped aside, he doesn't look able to take them further.
I agree. I hope he walks so it doesn't have to get messy. We don't want him as Director of Football or anything either - that just gets messy.
I wouldn't rule out Martin O'Neil - I can;t see what more he can win at Celtic, so the chance of a move to a big Premiership side would be tempting to him. Plus the chance to have money to spend on improving the side, which is something Celtic lack.
I think Liverpool is the perfect move for him. His only real challenge at the moment is in Europe. Realistically that just means the UEFA cup, unless the Celtic board can come up with some serious cash. Rangers can improve but then its only one rival.
maby a little
