This is interesting for me, because there are some countries where the speech of the capital is considered proper (such as French, Russian, etc. ) and there are others where the speech of the capital is not really standard at all. Is Stockholm Swedish not considered "standard Swedish" ?
considering there are different accents from different parts of stockholm, that would be difficult. also, it's so ugly
foreginers tend to only learn swedish while in sweden anyway, and then they pick up whatever local accent there is....
And are you sure about the french? my french teacher in high school was getting annoyed with me because my accent was parisian... or that might have been idioms... whatever. my father commented on my teacher's accent as "nonexistant" <- that is, it couldn't be heard from where he was... whatever, I tend to talk too much.
