I say 'mittens' sort of de-emphasizing the t's... Facinating, I know.
It's called "glottalizing" - if you took it to its logical conclusion you'd have the Cockney accent, where it really sounds more like you've said "mih-ens" with a glottal stop between the syllables (just cutting off the word abruptly and restarting it).
Hebrew doesn't really flatter English. A bit guttural?
