*from memory* he did his first movie when he was around 13. It was a 5 minute feature using his fathers old 9 mm camera. Twas about him being a piolet.
He's always been interested in WWII since his father was based on one of those pacific islands during the war and always told him war stories.
He directed ET, one of his favourites, Goonies, Raiders of the Lost Ark (plus all the other Indy movies), Schiendlers List, Saving Private Ryan and many others.
Umm...oh..and he's gotta beard.
