I pity these people, but I am pretty sure they will be able to live with themselves
I don't pity them at all. I just want to inflict some serious harm and the scumbags! Killing them is maybe a bit extreme. Hurting them badly is not.
Thanks for listening.
Very sorry, Que. You REALLY should get your b/f to back you up if you can. These people belong in jail and if they get away with it they WILL do it again - maybe even to you or your b/f. Maybe next time someone will die.
Hitting someone with a board is bad news. No - you weren't killed and, thankfully, weren't too seriously injured. But you could have been and we'd have lost a friend.
To relate something for perspective. Some years ago I worked for the Mounties (the Canadian Federal Police). Before he went into forensics, my boss Rick used to have a couple on his beat that were always fighting. REALLY fighting. Beating each other up. Throwing toasters. Both giving as good as they got, too. This was a regular hetero married couple and this insanity was just their lifestyle - but the RCMP routinely had to go and break it up.
One day they got there and the husband was lying on the floor. Dead. The wife was crying. They were having their usual fight and she'd grabbed something off the counter to hit him with. In this case she grabbed a little fruit paring knife. The blade only an inch and a half long. She stuck him with it. Missed the sternum, missed the ribs and nicked the aorta. He was dead from massive internal bleeding before she even finished calling the police.
She didn't mean to kill him. She felt horrible about it. But she did. People can be amazingly tough and they can be amazingly fragile. Any assault like that should be treated as a threat to your life. If you don't stop them and they get away with it this time - they may well come back. Remember the paring knife. One wrong hit and one of you - or one of them - could die. It doesn't take much.
Good luck with it. I wish I'd been driving by. I'd have run the bloody scum over!
