I don't care if cats are smarter, they're not as socialized as dogs and hence more walking furniture than pets.

Dogs pick up on social cues that humans send better than any other animal on the planet, according to a recent study whose findings were published in The Economist (well, that's where I read it...I know it was published in scientific journals as well). They therefore are capable of more meaningful interaction with humans (on average) than cats, pigs, dolphins or chimpanzees.

I don't know of any way to link the Economist article to this site since you have to pay for it, but it was in that magazine a few weeks ago.

The point is that I don't care if cats are smarter.
