It's also interesting to note that here, most of my Japanese friends have them, too.
I suppose they might be useful, but if there is a cheaper way to keep appointments, then I, personally, wouldn't spend the money on it. I guess if you have failed appointements or assignments, then it might help you to remember...I don't know.
I think it would be a good idea to keep a small book, that way everything will be in one place. Then if it helps you, and you are really good at writing things down and keeping up, go the next step and get a PDA. At least, that is what I've heard you should do.
