Do you think we, as a country, should do more to celebrate? Day off (as long as Scotland, Wales, and NI got days off for their respective saints)?
I tend to be torn on it, it would be nice to celebrate as much as patron saint's days are else where. However, I remember reading The English (book by Jeremy Paxman) and he made the point that part of the way we celebrate being English is by not actually celebrating it...a very English way to do it.
