It seems to have got worse in the last few years - Bush has used 9/11 and the follow up to make anyone who disagrees with him seem Anti-American. Scary.
Oh undoubtably it has. There really is no seeming about it. Some would disagree that Bush has not used 9/11 to pursue those ends, but if you step back (maybe it's easier as citizens of other countries to see this) and take a look, it's quite clear. While toting the ideals of liberty and freedom for all, the US is quick becoming a fascist state, controlled by fear and censorship. Ironic considering the nation's vehement stance but a few decades ago.

It's pretty much the same in every Western country as far as I know apart from the US
