It smacks of at best sticking the head in the sand and pretending that nobody's dying over there, but I agree that the more sinister interpretaion of censorship is probably correct.

And if it was my relative in the coffin the thought that their death was being manipulated in an attempt to control public opinion during an election campaign would REALLY distress me
