It's obviously misleading to cite sources which do not even contain reference to Jesus, as historical records of Jesus.
Snoopster was asking for contemporary accounts. However, while it's legitimate to offer non-contemporary accounts in response, to do so without qualification seems misleading. (And not an indication of wanting to give a pure, unbiased account, since there is a clear answer to whether or not the records were contemporary).
To reject opinions on historical data because they are not 'expert', rather than actually engaging with the arguments presented, is counter to rational discussion, reduces 'expert' accountability, increases the tyranny of the 'expert', and moreover is based on the false premise that one cannot have a solid, reasonable opinion if one is not 'expert'.
I'm disappointed. I thought you were a smart guy.
