1. What is your major?
Chemistry. I did a combined BA/BSc. I grauated from the BA last year (major was history. This year I'm doing an honours year in chemistry for my science degree.

2. What job do you hope to get because of this preparation?
Any job! There aren't many jobs for chemists in Australia. My arts degree gives me a good background for any public service job so I'm applying for the various departments. But I'll be applying for more science-based jobs too. I'd like to get a practical chemistry job if possible. But I'll take what I get.

3. Is higher education giving you what you feel you need to be successful?
In some respects. I certainly feel I wouldn't be able to get a decent job without it. And I feel need the honours to get a practical chemistry job, because I wouldn't have the lab experience without it. And having the double degree increases my prospects too, as its looked on more favourably than people with single degrees.

4. Did you go to college right after high school or did you wait?
Right after school.
