Helping me understand Diademed_Battle_Lord - 24/01/2003 04:08:46 PM

Iraq is a signatory to the nuclear non-proliferation treaty.
Does the US, UK, China, or France ever get inspected for these weapons of mass destruction? (I'm sorry, this treaty only covers NUKES) I would hope that if another country acted like America has the last 50 years, there would be some of us resisting that country having it's military on our land, in our homes, and taking over the Earth...

The ABM treaty has a clause allowing either signatory to give 6 months notice and withdraw. So we did.
Thank you sooo much for stating the obvious...

As far as "Prisoners of War" in Cuba, we disagree that anything we have done is a violation of (I presume you mean) the Geneva Convention.

Who is WE? If you are talking about the US, obviously they disagree!! And obviously they took prisoners of war!!! They went to another country and fought the natives and took PRISONERS!!!

The Baruch plan of 1946, offered by the United States, sought to forestall nuclear arms proliferation by placing all nuclear resources under international ownership and control.

But the early postwar efforts to achieve agreement on nuclear disarmament failed. The Soviet Union in 1949, the United Kingdom in 1952, France in 1960, and the Peoples Republic of China in 1964, became nuclear-weapon states.

So the US thought it would be the only one with Nukes...interesting...I wonder what would have happened if Iraq had been one these countries that are now ALLOWED to have these weapons?
