OK, you wanted an American point of view. Here it is.
Sure.
Football is great for many reasons. The least of which contradicts your reason above. Football has more strategy that makes it very intriguing. After every play you have time to regroup, substitute men, and call the next play (the options are limited) whereas rugby gives you non-stop action but it has a more limited strategy aspect. Don't get me wrong - I love rugby.
Yeah, but that makes the game static, and sucky.
Another reason why football is great is the level of athletes on the field. No offense but these are some of the best athletes in the world and watching what they can do is amazing.
Um...yeah.
Best athletes?
There doesn't seem to be much skill involved.
Far more in dribbling a football around three defenders and slotting it neatly into the top righthand corner of the net.
Not just - throw...run...catch.
Or - grab ball...run into opponents.
Football players, as a rule, need to be fit.
Ninety minutes of nondstop action.
American football players need to be...big.
Example - the guy called "The Fridge"
There are too many reasons for me to list so I will let some others do the talking but one more thing that makes football great. CHEERLEADERS!!!!
Oh, well, sure
