As far as I can tell the man is in a position to help people that have aids, and himself having aids can help him be more compassionate to those people.
As for his religious beliefs, everyone has there own opions about aids and homosexuality. And it is not wrong to have religous beliefs. Half the religions in the world condemn homosexuality. This dosnt mean that he cannot perform his job. He simply believes that homosexuality is wrong. And lets face it every liberal in america is going to jump down on this guy because of this.
In todays politically correct society "Gay plague" is going to be labeled harsh and discrimintive. Although I dont argue that Thacker was right in saying this I do think that he is not fully wrong in saying it either. After all Aids was first seen spread heavily within homosexuals, especially gay men. So before you condemn this man for what you think he is saying do some research yourself.
