might be because earlier bibles were translated by meaning more often than not, and not by word. But you are right. Many things can be read into it.
I find it particularly strange where whole sentences were removed for no apparent reason.
I just noticed another odd thing incidentally.....in Genesis, both the Latin Vulgate and the Anglo-Saxon one refer to 'Visionis', whereas for some reason the King James uses 'Moriah', i.e. going back to the original Hebrew word.....no idea why that is......well, I have ideas, but I doubt if they are correct.
That is one of the reasons I am studying religious history.
