Some of my favorite posts to read here are by you, mookie, aero, nekro, and other people who make me grit my teeth when I read some political things. Whatever. I respect you guys tons, and you have a lot to offer other than opinions on events we usually can't influence anyways

This is going to be shorter.


Anyway, I thought I'd focus on this statement by you. Basically, I think it hits at the heart of what we're talking about. We take opinions contrary to our own as being an attack on ourselves; we take them as an affront on what we think, etc. etc.

(I would really like to know what things you are talking about, btw; you must have some examples)

More than that, though, we often mis-interpret the meaning others' attempt to get across. When you say "Bomb Iraq" you mean "kill innocent civilians", when I say, "Bomb Iraq", I mean "take out military facilities".

So yeah, I don't know. I had such a great response, and now it is gone. I seriously hate this IE crap.
