What you are speaking of here seems to be Americanization/Globalization, and not the fundamentalism Chomsky is speaking of.
Fundamentalism as applied to our culture.
Our "culture" is the one true and good "culture." It is our job to save these people form their own vices and bring them to the light of our "culture." To do this, we must "saturate them" with our "media."
Replace "culture" with "God", "saturate them" with "preach to them", and "media" with "gospel" and you have a vague description of what most people think of when they hear "fundamentalist."
What we do through Americanization to the world, is really no different than what the Fundamentalist are trying to do within the US through the rule of Law. The problem is that some people just don't know how to deal with being preached at.
Of course, I could just be making a vacous argument, which would explain my inability to properly articulate it.
Okay.
By the way, does the Fanboy thing in your sig refer to me?
No, it's about Nintendo fanboys. They drive me nuts.
