It seems you and the above person are talking about globalization, and not fundamentalism. Part of this is my fault: I did not think people would mis-interpret him, so left out the context. As I said, it was in response to a question about Islamic religious fundamentalism; further, Chomsky spoke of how the State allows for freedom of religion and so forth. He was speaking about religion, unless my ability to judge the nature of an interview is that of a five year old.
Also, Chomsky is very familiar with globalization, and would not call one by another name. I do not think.
