So screw Nestle. They aren't entitled to shizzit.
When one company buys another company, the purchaser generally becomes the successor to any claims that the seller might have had at the time of the purchase. If the company Nestle bought had a claim against the Ethiopian gov't when the purchase was made, Nestle, as owner, would be entitled to receive compensation. By the way, Nestle is apparently just one of numerous claimants involved in the case.
Oh--and assuming there are no relevant statute of limitation problems--it doesn't matter how long after the gov't seizure Nestle acquired the company.
