But that's what were doing elsewhere in the world. South Korea, for example. We've had troops stationed there for decades, we aren't wanted by either side, and the government isn't showing any signs of pulling out soon. As long as we keep a few troops in the Middle East, Saddam probably won't go anywhere, and fewer of them will die than if a war started. Another benefit to this strategy is that the Middle Eastern economy doesn't get destroyed, which will almost certainly happen if we do go to war. And, our the U.S. doesn't have to worry about coming up with money for the war.
