First of all, on the point regarding World War II: Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary joined the Axis only after the fall of France. At the time of the invasion of Poland, the only warring states whatsoever were Britain, France, Poland and Germany. The USSR did not invade Eastern Poland even until two weeks into the war, and its seizure of the Baltics and Bessarabia did not happen until 1940. In other words, at the time war broke out, an aggressive strike by Britain and France could have broken through German defenses and ruined the chances that the blitzkrieg in the East would succeed.
With respect to U.S. inaction in Africa - I'm not arguing that we should remove all dictators. I'm saying that we are not ourselves dictators and that when we fight against dictators, it is disingenous to suggest that we are morally equivalent to them. Indeed, I would not support the United States going into every country in the world that is ruled by a dictator and shedding blood solely for humanitarian reasons.
We are going to attack Iraq (I have no doubts about that) because Saddam Hussein's ambitions threaten United States interests, as well as those of our allies. I'm not suggesting that we would or should do anything other than that. However, I attacked the message of this post because it attempts to paint the United States as an evil empire of sorts, in the cheapest and worst form of propaganda, perversion of statistics and outright lies.

Oh, I don't have time for this. I have to go and buy a single piece of fruit with a coupon and then return it, making people wait behind me while I complain. - Prof. Farnsworth
