Once upon a time there was a mad dictator who didn’t believe he need bother with the treaties that his country had singed. All of his neighbors not wanting to have any trouble like a confutation that might possibly lead to a second war with this country let him stretch & bend the restrictions regarding his military might. This went on for some years until one day the mad dictator decided that he needed more room so he used all that might that he had built up despite those uniforced restrictions to take over the neighboring countries. This lead to a large war with much more death & suffering on both sides than there would have been if someone would have stopped him from building up his might.
No this is not my foretelling about Saddam it is (tough be it oversimplified) something from the worlds past & something I hope to never see the like of in my life time. I just don’t see appeasement as a good course to take with mad dictators.
