That essentially described the occurances of slavery throughout history, noting how essentially every major culture had slavery to some degree, whether it was of women or a minority or captured enemies, most great societies of the past have depended on it at some point. The African Slave Trade is just the one most noteworthy. One interesting point we'll likely see some day is a Clone or Robot slave trade. Once we have AI, how many people will consider them deserving of rights? The same goes for clones. Many people already see babies as property (abortion, anyone?), and since one of the points of cloning is to make new organs or test subjects, shouldn't we worry about the moral implications? African slavery may be one of the most memorable (mostly due to whining), but I doubt it will be the end of it for the human race. Who knows, maybe some green aliens will come and enslave us all?
Personally, I fully support the President in his request to make cloning illegal, just as I support his stance on stem cells, though I know many people had high hopes for it's curative possibilities. Morals will be a big problem in the future. Sci Fi tends to be only 20-30 years ahead in a lot of areas, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a real life 6th Day (Arnold movie. Check it out) in my life time.
