No, not all of the African Americans here were slaves. Some are immigrants from Africa. Some are descendents of people freed earlier in the Carribean. etc etc Any way, most of the African Americans living in the US today have no more valid a claim for reparations than any other person alive. None of the people who abused their ancestors are alive. It's one thing to inherit your father's debt, and another thing to inherit blame. Their claim may be a little more recent (in some cases) or a little more obvious (anyone remember the people persecuted in the days of Mcarthyism?), but still, none of the people whining today were slaves. Yes, discrimination exists, but the Irish were discriminated against when they came here after the Potato Blight, and the Chinese have been discriminated against, and the Native Americans were more or less kicked out of the country by way of death, but you know what, it's over and done with to such a point that it can't be made right through fines and litigation.
And as far as your examples go, no, a woman doesn't deserve to be raped for anything, but if she walks into an obviously dumb situation, like say a dark alley in a miniskirt in a slum, you know what, she's asking some lowlife to try her out. There's crimes and there's stupidity leading to crimes. Would you say a drunk driver had it coming?
Speaking of dumbasses...
