why should there be the need for it? So a whole stack of people can go through this -so many times-hugely expensive occasion? If two people are committed to each other, what is the need for them to go through a ceremony which essentially means nothing? It's just society telling them that they should. If people want to get married, that's fine, I just don't believe that they should. Personal choice.

As for the lastpart.....one people have been living together for long enough, there are laws that apply to non married couples.
