I have to say that it sums up my feelings, understandings and thoughts about marriage, especially when you apply them to the relationship I have with Brenda, my wife.

There is something about marriage, the act of actually, formally committing yourself to a person, that changes, strengthens and expands a relationship. It is transformative, and you really can't understand that until you reach that point in a realationship.

A marriage, or relationship, isn't always fun and games all the time. You have to work on it, compromise for it, tend it constantly. You need to be absolutely committed to your partner to do that.

On a side note, too many people these days get married without the willingness to do these things... or they get married to get married. Doing as Ave said, really knowing before doing it, is the true key in this.
