When writing that post I knew I was missing out practically all of the legal stuff, I apologise for that.
Just as one example, I was recently hospitalized for a medical emergency. My LONG term significant other (one third of my life, thank you very much ), who knows me better than anyone else in the world, would have had NO input into what happened to me, had I not been in a position to make decisions for myself about my treatment. That experience, and considering other areas we perhaps had overlooked in our decision that it didn't matter what "society" said about our relationship as long as we were clear, has made us re-think the marriage question.
That's all quite interesting actually. Do you think that marriage will 'add' anything to your relationship, or would you be doing it purely for the legal reasons?
