Do you think religion 'invented' marriage... it certainly seems that way.
I really couldn't say. I really don't know squat about social anthropology but that would be my guess as well. Mainly I meant that in modern times religious people are against any kind of home life without marriage and therefore if you are religious you are required to become married. (in some religions i mean, I cannot make a completely generalized statement about it )

It's not that I'm against it or don't agree with it, Danae alThor put it best when saying that marriage is a special thing thats very abused (complete agreement from me), so I don't think I could make that kinda commitment unless I was 100% sure of it.
Plus I'm not sure I could get married in a church, I was raised catholic but have become cynical in the last 7 or 8 years and have some issues with mother church. ( but I will not get on that topic, far too touchy)
