Liberal media? I honestly wouldn't know, we only have one friggin newspaper. And five TV channels, three of whose news services are pretty much the same.
Are you referring to the fact that he didn't win the popular vote? If so, that's happened before. It DOESN'T matter.
Now I'm a little scared. All right, let's see what facts I can dredge up to support my tepid little argument. The following are taken from Michael Moore's book "Stupid White Men", so they're bound to be a little biased. Feel free to refute them if you can.
Fact: Al Gore ended up with 539,898 more votes than George W.
Fact: In 1999, Katherine Harris, GW's campaign co-chair and Florida secretary of state in charge of elections, paid A$4 million to Database Technologies to remove anyone from Florida's voter rolls "suspected" of being a felon. This means 31% of all black men in Florida could not vote.
Fact: Black Floridians are predominately Democrat voters - 90%, going by the percentage that ended up being allowed to vote.
Fact: DT was also instructed by Harris' office to remove anyone with a similar name to felons or ex-felons. They also checked people with the same birthdate or similar Soc. Sec. numbers to felons, meaning the exclusion of the immediate families of many of the ex-felons. Thus many innocent black Floridians were denied the vote, along with thousands who had committed only misdemeanours
Fact: 66% of removed voters in Miami-Dade were black.
Fact: 54% of those denied the November 2000 vote in Tampa county were black.
Fact: A list of 8000 "ex-felons" who had since moved to Florida and had their voting priveliges reinstated was sent to Florida from Texas. They were all denied the vote in the November elections, despite the fact that some of the "felons" on the list were guilty of nothing more than parking violations.
Fact: One of the people denied the vote as a result of these shenanagins was Linda Howell, the elections supervisor of Madison County.
Fact: On election night, before the vote counting had been completed in Talahassee, Fox News Channel falsely declared Bush the winner of Florida and thus the election. The other news networks, barring Ass. Press, followed suit, not wanting to be left behind.
Fact: John Ellis, the man in charge of Fox's election coverage and the man who made this call, is a first cousin of George W. and Jeb Bush.
I can go on, if you want. Still happy with the electoral system, Wulf'gar?
Oh, and in future, when you're trying to refute my arguments, please don't resort to personal remarks. It cheapens the whole experience for me.
