I am a man who beleives in free speech so I will not try to changed your opinion or even say that it is a bad one...

Please explain how the second part of your statement follows from the first part.

I am a man who believes in free speech because its principle benefit is that it allows us to try to change other people's minds, and it forces us to be exposed to the ideas of people who think differently.

If free speech didn't lead to vigorous debate then it would be worthless.
