Professional football (like all professional sports in the U.S.) is way over-sensationalized, the players are bad role models (drugs, domestic violence, etc), and get too much money for the actual importance of their job to society.
I have no idea what the average professional soccer/football player makes, so I can't complain there. The riots that ensue over a bloody game are childish and stupid. But I might also add my disapproval of the way Oakland-ites behaved after the game... It makes me sick. IT'S A GAME, PEOPLE!
As for the non-professional level, I LOVE watching both sports. I think that sports are great for children both physically and emotionally. And you all know those reasons so I won't ramble about it.
BUT... Isn't american football more like rugby? and by the way.... I did play pick-up games of american football with my cousins all the time. We had a football around all the time. we also had hockey sticks, a basketball, and a soccer ball. we played everything.
IMHO... Hockey blows both footballs away. I mean, a sport where you can lose teeth MUST be superior. *Shakes her pompoms and does a cheer for hockey*
Need I remind everyone that this post is about a GAME?
I believe only news and research that validates my opinion. Everything else is conspiracy and lies.
