i dont have a limited knowledge of the world histories, iv been studying history since i was in elementary school, though that one period is my favorite. I speak three languages and can read 4. By the end of high school, a good many can speak 2, and all most of the senior class can speak atleast 2 fluently. We do speak english, but we also speak spanish, french, chinese, japanese, hebrew, korean...the list goes on.
*applauds* in my American ignorance i can only speak English fluently.. but I am making fair progress with Spanish and Swedish. You have to admit though, this country is over run with English only folks. And a lot of them don't even do that well.
I have done the same, and for every american i saw "mistreating" the locals, i saw another in a museam or in a resturant either comenting on what a fine piece that was and giving thier opinion on the piece of art, or ordering the local cuisine, wether it is kimchi or fue gras. By the way whats your favorite city, mine is either monaco, kyoto, st. petersburg, or kobe
Certainly, there are good Americans. I try to be as well behaved as possible. There are tons of Americans who should not be allowed outside of the country until they can be taught to use silvrware and say their pleases and thank yous, but we still give them their passports....to our demise.
I don't care for Monaco; but I absolutley adore Nice, just down the road. I'd move there today, and may still in a few years if something else doesn't take over first place. Funny though, how it can be so close to Monaco and be so very different.
As far as a favorite "city", probably Copenhagen or Oslo.
I also thank you for the reply, and i find that very polite!
*shakes hand and bows graciously*
Thanks again
