I really see the only possible end as a point where those currently considered Minorities are oppressing others, having been lifted up much further than they needed to be.


The whole controversy the Democratic Party has tried to make a bigger deal out of is the fact that at Michagan University (I know it's spelled wrong) minorites get 20 extra points on their applications, even if they score the same as a white person, because what it comes down to is if you're caucasion, you're supposedly already better off than the others. How do we know when it's okay to stop handing out freebies and extra aid and establish tests where race and ethnicity aren't even asked? When does the hand up become a constant crutch for someone who doesn't even have an ailment? When will all people be considered able to walk on their own? I know there's still discrimination and racism obstacles for many, but can we ever get rid of all of them? How can we know we're offering compensation to the right people? Are all African Americans entitled reparations for slavery? Are all Japanese Americans entitled to a little extra help because of mistreatment to their predecessors during WWII? Should we always hire women before men just because they were treated unequally in the past? Isn't that discrimination against men or whites or whatever? I understand the spirit of the measures, but not the guidelines and durations. Unfortunately, the wrong type of people might use my arguments, but I still want to know why everyone deserves extra help but me.
