The main reason I would like to try and get speaking it at some point soonish is so that I can model my pronounciation on whatever dialect the first Norwegian i meet has.......then I might have some chance of sounding remotely decent, rather than getting a mix of dialectial sounds that sounds so patently foreign...
That same reason is why I don't want to try and speak too much before I have a Norwegian to talk to....

I only know the theory behind it, actually. I have never heard it spoken. I was introduced to it as "the language which was made to replace all the langauges of the world", and so I promptly locked my once open mind

I have some recordings of it being spoken.....no idea where they are now but I guess I still have them somewhere...

Nynorsk (or Bokmål, for that matter) are not spoken. Well, Bokmål is almost spoken in the welthy part of Oslo, I guess. They are both written languages. We speak a variety of dialects. For instance:

Bokmål: Jeg liker bøker
Nynorsk: Eg likar bøker
My dialiect: I like bøker

I like bøker......as random curiosity, is the _e_ dropped because there is a following word? If you just were to say 'jeg liker', would you say 'i liker'....
This was just random guesswork trying to account for why the _r_ is dropped in one word and not in another.

I do know about mine, actually. Well, more or less. Years ago, when I had just read the book where Sammael refers to Lanfear as Mierin for the first time, I was getting my e-mail account. Having tried my name and such and getting it rejected, I used the old name of Lanfear (which I found very fascenating). Then, years after that, when I was getting signed up for wotmania, I thought, "oh, well... it will make it easier to understand". Not sure why I added the sedai, though...

lol.....i suppose i didn't have to decide about whether to add 'sedai'......
I know nothing about psychology so I suppose I am not much use trying to think about why people have the sn's they do....
