I have heard opponents of the war make all three points. You, however, have not. One cannot argue against opponents as if they hold positions that they do not hold and be honorable.
That there are others that hold those views does not excuse me for attributing them to you. I apologize.
Still, I think oil companies believe that there is more to lose than there is to gain with an Iraqi invasion. Depressed prices will not be good for the oil sector, even if (and it is not certain that this will occur) American companies get new contracts in Iraq.
On a related note: Remember the gas pipeline through Afghanistan that was supposedly our covert reason for having war over? The pipeline is going forward, being built by the govts. of Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. American companies have thus far declined offers to invest in it.
